Every time our VPP uses your battery to send power to the grid, you’ll get paid a premium rate of $0.45/kWh. That’s in addition to any normal solar feed-in tariff your energy provider may pay you.
Note that feed-in tariffs vary, and some energy companies offer bigger tariffs than others. Check out our free Energy Compare tool to find the best tariff available in your area.
As of 2021, our VPP is averaging two events every week. That means that VPP participants are making money two times each and every week for their power.
The important thing to remember is that every time our VPP uses your battery, you’re better off. You make money every time. So the more events you participate in, the better.
And we’re just getting started. We’re always looking for ways to increase your VPP earnings!
There are two possible ways to receive your payments. If you’re a Powow customer, you’ll see any VPP payments appear on your bill as a credit. Other customers will receive their payments directly into the bank account of their choice.
You’ll receive your payments for the times your battery has been used by the VPP on a regular payment cycle.
